DO PETS GO TO HEAVEN?

Rex-in-Heaven

Recently, I read a statement on Facebook that was posted by someone who said he was relating the belief of his particular Church. He stated, “Pets don’t go to Heaven. They don’t have souls. Humans are more important to God than animals.” You can imagine, being the extreme pet lover that I am, I could not allow him to get away with such an absurd, uninformed, and pompous statement,

so I commented the following below his Facebook posting:

“The Bible is filled with verses that say animals not only go to Heaven when they “die”, Heaven is loaded with them! Just for starters read, Ecclesiastes 3:19-21, Romans 8:21, Genesis 9:14-17 Isaiah 11:6-9, Job 12:7-10, Psalm 50:9-11, Luke 12:6. The book of Revelation is filled with verses about animals and beasts around the Throne of God.

Two of my favorite verses in the Old Testament are Genesis 1:30, and Genesis 2:19, which use the word “creature” for animal. The word is from the Hebrew, “Nephesh,” which literally means, “SOUL.” Those who profess that animals do not have souls are going against the very Word of God! The Psalms are also filled to the brim with God’s tender and loving feelings about and for animals, and all of Nature for that matter.

And speaking of Nature, all of the Earth – sans humanity and everything humans have ever created – represents the purity of God’s Nature, and animals are a huge part of what Nature and the Earth are all about. Go to Revelation 11:18 and read what God’s wrath is going to bring about during His final judgment over the human culture:

“ … and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your people who revere your name, both great and small – and for destroying those who destroy the earth.”

A primary reason that brings about the wrath of God during the final judgment, is the way human beings have abused and destroyed the Jewel of a planet God gifted to them: The Earth – Nature. You cannot separate animals from Nature. Animals are an intrinsic part of all that Nature is. In the book of Genesis, God placed mankind on Earth to take care of Nature, not to destroy it. Nature was so important to God that humans were designated as mere caretakers in relation to the world of plants and animals. One of the worst condemnations found in the entire Bible is this verse in Revelation chapter 11. It promises that those who destroy Earth/Nature will, themselves, be destroyed for eternity.

Animals don’t have souls, huh? Animals aren’t important to God, huh?

I do not have any doubt that the majority of humans will probably not make it into Heaven due to their egoistic opinions of themselves and their worldly ways, but animals, given their state of purity and innocence, as well as the scriptural proof of God’s Love for them, are going to have front row seats in Heaven.

  1. Yes Din,
I too was suprised to hear this touted by a famous Christian family on natioatioal television a few years back. Apparently many do not believe animals go to heaven. The fact is they do, and are among those immediately restored to glory unlike us humans who have to work out our salvation.

    • This is called Biblical ignorance, AuBrey. For a Christian to say animals do not go to Heaven is the same as calling God and Jesus , liars, because it is clear by their teachings in the Bible that they not only DO go to Heaven, but they even predated mankind during the Creation. And those are only the teachings of the Bible. In reality. animals were “seeded” on this world long before humans were allowed. In fact, it was debated as to whether or not to even create a human culture for this world. Animals were never in doubt due to their purity, but it was assumed that humans would devolve into the degenerate state we find them today and there were those who opposed their creation.
